The presenters will talk about their collaborative peer-reviewed study. Their work was published in
our ASSP’s Professional Safety Journal (PSJ) August 2023 issue. They’ll discuss safety climate
including relevant research that provides scholarly as well as practical implications.

Authentic leadership will also be discussed, including safety-related challenges and solutions and
the impact on safety climate. The speakers discuss how this research reveals a strong relationship
between safety climate and authentic leadership behaviors.

Stephanie is a past president of the West Michigan Chapter. Currently, she is the Clinic
Risk/Privacy Officer at The Ohio State University. She has 16+ years as an EHS Manager in general
industry and served as an adjunct professor at GVSU/OSHM. Stephanie received her PhD from Keiser
University, an MBA from Webster University, MS from University of Phoenix and her BS degree from
Troy University.

Dan is a veteran manager, professor, and community leader. He is a leadership and human
resource psychology consultant, adjunct professor at Saint Peter’s University and a full-time
professor at Keiser University in Florida. Dan received his PhD from Capella University, his MA
from Minnesota State University, and his BS degree from St. Cloud State University.
