Effective safety and health management systems are proven to prevent occupational illnesses and injuries. Through Michigan’s Voluntary Protection Program (MVPP), management, labor, and MIOSHA establish cooperative relationships at workplaces that have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system. MVPP requires active employee involvement, management commitment, continual identification and elimination of hazards, and robust health and safety training. The process to develop, implement, and apply for this prestigious recognition with MIOSHA will be presented to the participants.
