In 2014, Amway began a journey of EH&S Excellence. This management system was developed in response to several challenges that they were experiencing and has proven to be extremely successful. Shelly Stephens will share their journey and what made their system unique and successful. She will also share the challenges and lessons learned, progression as the program matured and where they are heading next beyond EH&S Excellence to system resiliency.

Shelly Stephens is the Manager of Global Environmental, Health and Safety at Amway. She has worked at Amway for over 24 years in a variety of roles associated with EH&S and is currently responsible for the development and alignment of standards and programs for implementation at all of Amway’s global manufacturing, logistics and agribusiness operations.

She enjoys leading a team of professionals in developing innovative strategies to achieve EH&S Excellence. She is an EH&S Management Specialist, has a Certification in Safety Management from the ASSE, and is trained as a Professional Emergency Manager and Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Technician. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
